Hey, I answered this question 7 months ago. How cool to come around again.

Anyway, it was 2003. The Spurs had the best record in the NBA at 60-22 and they also won the championship that year.

Working backwards

2006-07

Best record-Dallas 67-15

NBA Champion SA Spurs 58-24 (third best record)

2005-06

Best record- Detroit 64-18

NBA Champion Miami 52-30 (fifth best record)

2004-05

Best record Phoenix 62-20

NBA Champion SA Spurs 59-23 (third best record)

2003-2004

Best record-Indiana 61-21

NBA Champion Detroit 61-21 (sixth best record)

2002-03

Best record-SA Spurs 60-22

NBA Champion SA Spurs (1st best record)

Note: Dallas tied the W-L at 60-22 but SA had the tiebreaker

When is the last time an nba team with the best regular season record won the championship??2003 nba draft

2000 Lakers

When is the last time an nba team with the best regular season record won the championship??nba free agents ,nba teams

it would be the chicago bulls, leading the way is m.j
The 2000 Los Angeles Lakers with Shaq and Kobe
The Los Angeles Lakers.
It's so ironic that the top seeds of the last 3-4 seasons with 60+ wins haven't won the NBA championship, from the 63Win Spurs and the 64Win Pistons in the 2006 playoffs , down to the 67Win Mavericks and the 61Win Suns. I know there is more to count because the Mavericks also had 60 wins when the Spurs and Pistons had the best record of their conference mentioned earlier.
